Description

The discomfort chair is an exploration of hostile design, questioning how it can be reinterpreted into comfortable furniture and challenging the conventional perception of comfort and utility. The piece invites reflection on the fine line between function and discomfort, prompting a reevaluation of our relationship with everyday items.

About The Designer

Klinta is a Latvian designer based in London whose practice reimagines the familiar. By distorting everyday objects, she merges together fragments of her upbringing while challenging how we perceive function, form, and materiality. With a research-driven approach, Locmele pushes the boundaries of form and material, creating pieces that are bizarre, unconventional, and otherworldly.
