Description
Ethel
is a soft sculpture by British artist Dean JF Hoy created in 2024.
She is a golden lamb with darling teary eyes, small in stature, she has been sewing herself back together following an accident.
In 1973 Ethel fell out of a satchel bag on a trip to Devon, left at a service station but went wandering into the woods and ended up at Stonehenge. After a few rips and tears from her travel, she stitched herself back together and continues her life journey.
Her bandaged legs, petit nature, and hand sewn intricacy exude warmth and care.
