Description
Description
Made from hand extruded recycled polypropylene the form is deliberately blobby and loose, as if a whole lot of existing paraphernalia had been squished down and reformed. This very ubiquitous material (plastic) is
presented in a form which is rarely seen and perhaps more suggestive of dough, wax or clay, indeed the colours reference Delft pottery, a typically prized and
appreciated craft tradition. Can be used as a floor or a table lamp, it has a twist on/off switch at about three quarters of its height.
Care: G9 light fitting within a glass shade, supplied with a UK plug which can be changed for local fittings. Clean with a soft cloth or feather duster.

About The Designer
About The Designer
James Shaw is a London based designer who creates
objects and furniture. His work aims to bring out the inherent beauty of diverse materials, often uniting or contrasting handmade and tactile qualities with the structured and systematised. Frequently his work considers the resources around us, challenging the notions of “waste” and "value".
He is probably best known for his work with recycled
plastics, and his self-built extruding gun, which produces blobby, gloopy and baroque forms, creating objects of unexpected beauty from a problematic
material.
