Double Soap is a stoneware ceramic lamp base loosely formed as two buttocks balanced over two thighs in a contrapposto stance. The surface is finished with a glaze that evokes foaming soap on skin. Playful and intimate, the sculpture suggests the closeness of two bodies sharing a shower.

Lucia Vera is a painter and sculptor whose work, particularly the pieces presented here, challenges and mocks visual languages that objectify women. Her formal language is rooted in bodily, organic forms, using exaggerated volumes and playful shifts in scale to amplify meaning and sharpen each work’s narrative.

The lampshades are vintage pieces drawn from the artist’s private collection, introducing layers of domestic history and cultural reference.
