The White South Sea Cultured Pearl Necklace by artist and fine jewellery designer Aamina Juma is a large-scale sculptural work that
playfully reimagines a timeless jewellery classic. Handcrafted from tufted New Zealand wool, the oversized “pearls” challenge traditional ideas of value by replacing precious gemstones – or pearls in this case, with soft wool material.

Through surreal scale and unexpected materiality, Juma transforms the timeless classic strand of pearls into a tactile artwork that blurs the line between jewellery, sculpture, and design. The piece features off-white wool pearls with subtle pale pink tones and is finished with a sculptural clasp referencing an 18k white gold fishhook.

At 290 cm (114 in) long, this striking textile sculpture invites viewers to reconsider the meaning of luxury, adornment, and material worth.
