About The Designer
About The Designer
Jochen Holz is a London-based, German glass artist. Holz started working with glass at an early age, when he enrolled in a scientific lamp-working apprenticeship, honing his craft to a rigorous, technical standard. He then moved to the UK, where he studied at Edinburgh College of Art and The Royal College of Art, finding new and unique ways to apply his lampworking prowess in the art and design world.
In contrast to the formalised, repetitive methods of traditional lamp-working, Holz’s work celebrates spontaneity, improvisation, and pushing the boundaries of his given medium.
