A collaboration between designer Walid al Damirji and environmental artist Kumiko Tani, bring to life this stunning and highly decorative 19th century Chinoiserie giltwood French Napoleon III, low occasional
chair. Upholstered in flowers motif 19th century Chinese silk embroidery.

It is a both a functional and decorative piece of furniture that will brighten any room and blend in with many styles. It will be a perfect fit for the homes of those with eclectic or bohemian lifestyles.

Upcycling and an approach to zero waste is key to understanding the designer's work and By Walid brand. Recycle, Reuse and Repurpose have been key words in his creations for almost three decades.

About The Designer

By Walid’s one-of-a-kind repurposed fabric furniture pieces originated as the creative output of a collaboration between designer Walid and environmental artist Kumiko Tani, who has worked at Walid’s side for many years, handling special projects and accessories. These one of a kind functional pieces have now amassed a cult collector following.

Walid is renowned for taking a zero-waste approach to
his artful creations, and these unique footstools are no different. The British-Iraqi designer repurposes historical antique materials and can spend endless amount of hours to create one piece – such is the careful craftsmanship and attention to detail to give these materials a new life.
